The following article appeared on the front page of the Chicago Daily News on May 15, 1894:

“Gorrey’s Fury Will Be Cooled.

Frank Gorry was sentenced to 108 days in the bridewell by Justice Scully to-day. Last night he went into his wife’s house on Clinton street and smashed the furniture with an ax. Beds, chairs and even the piano were made into splinters before Officer Tracy arrested him.”
