Struck Mrs. Mary Eisenberg

From the front page of the May 15, 1894 issue of the Chicago Daily News:

“For Larceny and Assault.

John Parker is accused of having stolen a pair of $3 shoes from Max Eisenberg’s store at 1303 State street and of striking Mrs. Mary Eisenberg on the head and stunning her so that she was unable to seize him. Justice Foster held him to the Criminal court.”

Poor Mrs. Eisenberg!
