“Killed His Wife by Mistake.

Aurora, Ill., June 25 – Frank Bonghur, a shoemaker in this city, shot and instantly killed his wife, mistaking her for a burglar. The husband is almost crazed with grief and a grown daughter went into convulsions over the shooting affair and may not recover.”

The article above appeared on page five of the Chicago Daily News, June 25, 1894.

I can only imagine the anguish felt by all the members of this family. How awful for everyone involved!
