The following notices of death appeared on page 7 of the July 25, 1894 issue of the Chicago Daily News;

“ARCHIBALD-July 25, 1894, MARTIN, brother of Lawrence Archibald, native of Richardstown, parish of Mownstronon, County Kildare, Ireland, aged 58. Funeral Friday, July 27, at 10 o’clock, from his late residence, 31 Commercial-st., to the Annunciation church, where high mass will be celebrated, thence by carriages to Calvary.”

“BEANS-HAZEL EDNA MILDRED BEANS. Funeral July 25, at 2 p.m. to Mount Olive. Philadelphia (Pa.) papers please copy.”

“CONWAY-At her residence, 3138 Union-av., July 24, 1894, MARY CONWAY (nee Gavin), beloved wife of John Conway and mother of Walter, Patrick and Edward Conway, Mary Keenan, Annie Lane and Maggie Keenan and sister of Michael Gavin. Funeral notice hereafter.”

“DOWD-July 24, 1894, at 4512 Paulina-st., NORAH, daughter of John and Norah Dowd (nee Fitzgerald), aged 10 months. Funeral Thursday, July 26, from above number to Mount Olivet.”

“DEACON-DANIEL-beloved son of Charles and Maggie Deacon (nee Gillen), aged 1 year 2 months. Funeral Thursday, July 26, at 10 o’clock, from parents’ residence, 346 N. Leavitt-st., by carriages to Calvary.”

“FLAVIN-July 24, 1894, at 511 59th-st., THOMAS, beloved husband of Alice Flavin, aged 42 years. Funeral Thursday at 10 a.m., to St. Ann’s church, where high mass will be celebrated, thence by carriages to Mount Olivet.”

“HOEY-July 25, MAGGIE M., beloved daughter of James and Maggie Hoey (nee Ryan). Funeral Saturday 9:30 from parents’ residence, 3000 Deering-st., to St. Bridget’s church, thence by carriages to Calvary. South Boston (Mass.) and Custer (Mich.) papers please copy.”

“KUEHN-July 24, ANNA, beloved wife of W. Kuehn, aged 44 years and 7 months. Funeral Thursday, July 26, at 1:30 p.m., from her late residence, 930 Melrose-st., to Graceland.”

“LINEHAN-At her residence, 20 Better-st., HANNAH LINEHAN, aged 43 years. Funeral Friday, July 27, at 9 a.m., to Holy Family church, where high mass will be celebrated, thence by carriages to Calvary.”

“LANAGAN-Tuesday, July 24, ANNA R., beloved wife of D. W. Lanagan. Funeral (private) Thursday, 10 a.m., from late residence, 82 25th-st., to St. James’ church, thence to depot and by rail to Mount Olivet.”

“M’CAFFREY-JOHN M’CAFFREY, died July 14, will be removed from vault in Calvary July 26, 11 a.m.”

“REINBERG-At High Ridge, Ill., CATHERINE, wife of Henry Reinberg, Jr., aged 71 years. Funeral from Adam Zender’s residence to St. Henry’s cemetery, High Ridge, Thursday, at 9:30 a.m.”

“SCHULTZ-July 24, at 613 Duncan park, RUDOLPH, beloved husband of Nellie Schultz (nee Londergan) and brother of Theodore, Adolph and the late Robert Schultz, Mrs. Louisa Evans and Mrs. Sophie Bennett, aged 37 years, member of Rising Star lodge A.O.U.W. Funeral Thursday at 10 a.m. to Winter Street M. E. church, thence by carriages to Waldheim.”

“WOODS-July 24, JOHN, beloved husband of Mary Woods (nee Eary) and brother of Bridget Woods, native of Glembrohan, County Limerick, Ireland, aged 30 years.”

Abbreviations, capitalizations and references to people, places and things are indicative of the era in which this information was published.
