“FOX-ANNIE, beloved sister of Rose, Margaret, Peter, Barney, Patrick and Paul Fox and native of County West Meath, Ireland, aged 19 years. Funeral from her brother-in-law, James D. Lynen’s residence, 1510 W. North-av., Wednesday, at 10 o’clock, to St. Slyvester’s church where high mass will be celebrated, thence by carriages to Calvery cemetery.”
“BREIT-JOHANNA, beloved daughter of John and Catharina Breit, aged 4 years and 5 days. Funeral Tuesday at 1:30 p.m., from parents’ residence, 279 E. Blackhawk-st., to St. Michael’s church, thence to St. Boniface cemetery.”
“BARRETT-July 28, Mrs. KATE BARRETT, aged 72 years. Funeral Tuesday at 9 a.m., from 3024 Broad-st., to St. Bridget’s church, thence by carriages to Calvary.”

Abbreviations, capitalizations and references to people, places and things are indicative of the era in which this information was published.
