The following obituaries were transcribed from page 11 of the December 26, 1899 issue of the Chicago Daily News:

“BOROUGH-Dec. 24, beloved mother of Mrs. Chas. Kuen, at her residence, 528 S. Paulina-st., aged 79 years and 6 months. Funeral from the house Wednesday, at 1 o’clock, to St. Paul’s Methodist Episcopal church, Center-st., thence to Graceland cemetery. Please omit flowers.”

BREW-Dec. 25, 402 N. Marshfield-av., PAULINE, dearly beloved child of William and Pauline Brew (nee Ogewald), aged 6 years and 9 months. Funeral Wednesday, at 1 p.m., by carriages to St. Boniface.”

My transcription above is exactly as the notices appeared in the December 5, 1903 issue of the Chicago Daily News with the exception of quotation marks at the beginning and end of each obituary.
