Tis a little grave, but O have care,

For world wide hopes are buried here.

How much of light, how much of joy,

is buried with our darling boy.

    The missing two words for the young child’s epitaph are (have care), a common inscription during the latter part of the 19th century.

    Excellent post !!

    The two missing words are “have care”. It is a fairly common epitaph and there are couple of slight variations.
