I talked about my genealogy binder re-do here thinking I had all my ducks in a row. For the first couple binders, everything was quacking about nicely. Then I hit a few snags. So I made some corrections:
Previously I thought this was fine:
- Pedigree Chart in the front cover sleeve
- Relationship Chart explaining my connection to the person named on the binder spine
- Family Group Sheet (on color paper) for each like-surname-named ancestor on the Pedigree Chart
- Family Group Sheet (on color paper) for the binder’s subject and each of their siblings
- Documents pertaining to each filed behind their respective Family Group Sheet
- Family View Report (on color paper) for the binder’s subject and their descendants
- Documents pertaining to each filed behind their respective Family Group Sheet
- Documents pertaining to each filed behind their Family Group Sheet
Then those pesky patronymic names came up and I had to make some changes. I think I’m on the right track now:
- A dated Pedigree Chart in the front cover sleeve printed on white paper
- A dated Relationship Chart explaining my connection to the person named on the binder spine printed on white paper
- A dated Family Group Sheet (on color paper #1) for each paternal direct-line ancestor on the Pedigree Chart
- Documents pertaining to each filed behind their Family Group Sheet
- A dated Family Group Sheet (on color paper #2) for the binder’s subject and each of their siblings
- Documents pertaining to each filed behind their respective Family Group Sheet
- A dated Family View Report (on color paper #3) for the binder’s subject and their descendants
- Documents pertaining to each filed behind their respective Family Group Sheet
