1914 Obituaries: January 23

The following notices of death appeared in the January 23, 1914 issue of the Chicago Daily News;

“ANDERSON-Minnie, age 58 years, wife of Charles Anderson, mother of Mrs. A. Raggio. Funeral from O’Hanley Bros.’ chapel, 6535 Cottage Grove-av., Jan 24. Burial at Princeton, Ill.”

“FRITZ-Stella, age 16 years, 2473 Fulton-st., beloved daughter of H. Fritz and Mary Fritz, sister of William and Florence. Services Sunday, Jan. 25, at Emmaus church, California-av. and Walnut-st., at 1 p.m., carriages to Concordia.”

“O’CALLAGHAN, Jan. 21, aged 86 years, Jeremiah, beloved husband of Ellen (nee Murphy), father of Mrs. Mary Baine, Jeremiah, John J., Daniel O’Callaghan, Mrs. J.J. Berry, Mrs. J. Halpin, the Rev. Steven M. O’Callaghan, C.M., Mrs. G. Walker, Mrs. A. Duginer and James S. O’Callaghan and the late Mrs. F. Hennessy and Mrs. J. Griffith, brother of Mrs. Nora Quirk. Funeral Saturday, Jan. 24, at 8:30 a.m. sharp, from his late residence, 640 W. 37th-st., to Nativity church, where solemn requiem high mass will be celebrated, thence by carriages to Polk-st. depot. Interment at St. Mary’s cemetery, Streator, Ill; train leaves Polk-st. depot at 12:15.”

“RAY-Frank, St. Luke’s hospital, beloved son of Mrs. S. R. Ray, brother of Jennie Ray and Mrs. Maud Rubel, at 7131 S. Peoria-st. Funeral notice later.”

“SMITH-Jan. 22, Patrick, son of the late John and Catehrine (sic) (nee Laville), brother of Edward, Annie Hurley and James Smith, the late Jonh (sic), Mary and Michael Smith. Funeral Saturday at 9:30 a.m., from McInerney Bros. undertaking parlors, 650 W. 43d-st., to St. Gabriel’s church, where high mass will be celebrated, thence to 47th-st. depot, by cars to Mount Olivet.”
