1887 Obituaries: March 30

I am disappointed when the images on a roll of microfilm are difficult to read or unreadable. It is important to me that the people listed are remembered, so I transcribed what I could from page 2 of the March 30, 1887 issue of the Chicago Daily News below;

“BURNS-Mrs. CATHERINE BURNS, aged 65 years. Funeral from late residence, 618 W. 18th-st., Thursday, March 31, at 10 o’clock to St. Pius Church, where high mass will be celebrated, thence by carriages to Calvary.”

“DECKERT-At parents’ residence…Wieland-st., CHARLES, beloved son of Charles and Kate Deckert, aged 1 year and 13 days.”

“MEYER-Monday, March 28, 1887, at 11:20 p.m., JOHN G. MEYER, aged 65 years 9 months and 3 days. Funeral Thursday at 12 m. to Waldheim Cemetery.”

“NOONAN-March 27, 1887, at Detroit, Mich., RICHARD NOONEN, aged 75 years, father of Capt. David Noonen of the Town of Lake Fire Department. Funeral from the residence of his son, David Noonen, 4523 Sherman-st., Thursday, 31st inst. at 10 a.m., to St. Gabriel’s Church, thence by carriages to Calvary.”

“REILLY-At 3835 S. Halsted-st., March 30, 1887, JOSEPHINE M. CARTAN, beloved wife of the Dr. Joseph Reilly, aged 26 years. Funeral from late residence, Friday, April 1, at 10 o’clock a.m., to Nativity Church, where solemn high mass will be celebrated, and then will proceed by carriages to Mount Olivet Cemetery.”
