“A BURGLAR NEATLY CAUGHT.

Joe Crowley was held to the Criminal Court this morning by Justice Walsh in bonds of $1,000 for the burglary of Crist Ofar’s residence, 308 West Ohio street, at 2 o’clock Monday morning. Crowley got in with a false key, stole $50 worth of jewelry, and made his escape, but was recognized by Ofar as he was passing out. Later in the day Ofar’s daughter and Crowley’s sister searched the culprit while he was asleep in his father’s house, next door, and found the stolen jewelry in his pockets. At 3 o’clock in the afternoon Officers Tierney and Thorpe arrested him.”

I thought it was a hoot – digging through his pockets while he was asleep.
