As a genealogist, have you looked for short-lived newspapers in your area of research?
The following article, which appeared on page one of the June 15, 1880 Chicago Daily News, may spark an idea for you to explore;
“JOURNALISTIC.
THE OMAHA “NEWS” SUSPENDS. (Special Dispatch to the Daily News.)
OMAHA, Neb., June 15.- The Omaha Daily News suspends with to-day’s issue, after an existence of a trifle over two years. It was controlled by the Omaha Republican, which has thought best to discontinue it, though evidently brought about somewhat abruptly, as the News recently put on a new dress and was apparently prosperous. It is a profound secret here, no one anticipating the suspension except the parties in interest.”
I have not! It’s hard enough finding the long-standing newspapers!
