1894 Obituaries: April 10

The following notices of death appeared on page 6 of the April 10, 1894 issue of the Chicago Daily News:

“ERBE-LULU, beloved daughter of Charles A. and Bertha Erbe, April 9, 1894, 8 p.m. Funeral Wednesday, April 11, at 2 p.m., from 268 Elm-st., near Wells, to Graceland.”

“PEARSON-At 21 Cleveland-av., April 8, 1894, HILDA PEARSON, aged 34 years 4 months and 15 days. Funeral Wednesday, April 11, at 2 p.m., to St. Ansgarius’ church, 99 Sedgwick-st., where funeral services will be held, thence to Graceland cemetery.”

“REYNOLDS-April 10, THOMAS, beloved son of Bernard Reynolds, aged 26 years. Funeral Thursday, April 12, from his late residence, 236 W. Congress-st., to St. Patrick’s church, thence by carriages to Calvary. Albany papers please copy.”

“SPILLANE-Funeral of MARY SPILLANE from her late residence, 493 Winchester-av., Wednesday, 9:30 a.m., to St. Charles’ church, thence by carriages to Calvary.”

“ARATTA-April 9, 1894, CATARINA, beloved wife of Joseppe Aratta and daughter of the late Maria Crescio, mother of John Aratta, Maria, Celia and Lizzie Arado and sister of Louisa Demartini, aged 44 years. Funeral Wednesday, April 11, 10 a.m., from late residence, 66 N. Franklin-st., to Church of the Assumption, thence to Chicago & N.W. depot, by cars to Calvary.”

“COUGHLIN-At Lake Forest, Ill., April 9, 1894, MAGGIE COUGHLIN, sister of I.J. Rigney, Mrs. P. Dalton and Mrs. Atkinton and beloved wife of P. Coughlin, aged 36 years.”

“BECHTELER-The remains of JOHN B. BECHTELER will be removed from the vault and interred in Forest Home cemetery, April 11, at 1 p.m.”

“HARDERS-At the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. Fehringer, 651 Melrose-st., Lake View, Mrs. KATHERINE HARDERS, aged 70 years. Funeral Thursday, April 12, 1 o’clock to Waldheim.”

“LEWIS-Monday morning, April 9, 1894, at 178 Coblenz-st., RICHARD LEWIS. Funeral Wednesday, 10 a.m., from Northwest Methodist church.”

“LANTIN-At her residence, 223 Aberdeen-st., Monday, April 9, 1894, Mrs. LANTIN, wife of James Lantin. Funeral notice hereafter.”

“LYONS-At his residence, 47 Coventry-st., April 9, 1894, ANDREW, beloved husband of the late Mrs. Bridget Lyons and father of Thomas and Luke Lyons and Mrs. Ella Kelly, member of Success lodge No. 287 A.O.U.W. Funeral Wednesday, April 11, at 9:30 a.m., to Annunciation church, where requiem high mass will be celebrated, thence to Calvary cemetery via C. & N.W.R.R.”

“ROACH-April 8, 1894, MARY ROACH (nee Keating), daughter of John and Margaret Keating, native of County Clare, Ireland, aged 31 years and 3 months. Funeral Wednesday, April 11, from her sister’s (Mrs. Carpenter’s) residence, 17 S. May-st., to St. Patrick’s church, where solemn high mass will be held at 10 a.m., thence by carriages to Calvary cemetery.”

“RUSSELL-Sunday April 8, at Los Angeles, Cal., EDWIN T., eldest son of the late John K. Russell of Oak Park, Ill. Funeral notice hereafter.”

“THURMAN-At 1386 34th-st., April 9, 1894, ANNA, beloved wife of W.E. Thurman, aged 28 years, member of Mount Pleasant R.D. lodge No. 276. Funeral Wednesday, April 11, at 10 a.m., by cars to Mount Greenwood.”
