The following is a partial list of death notices from the August 30, 1889 issue of the Chicago Daily News;

“APPELT-At 231 Blackhawk-st., Aug. 28, JOHN APPELT, aged 42 years. Burial at Rose Hill cemetery.”

“BELL-At the residence of his parents, 3820 Wallace-st., Aug. 29, 1889, JOHN, beloved son of Thomas and Susie Bell, aged 8 years 6 months and 14 days. Funeral from the above residence Saturday, Aug. 31, at 10 a.m., to Church of the Nativity, thence by carriages to Mount Olivet cemetery.”

“BROWN-Thursday, Aug. 29, at 10:45 p.m., at his residence, 72 35th-st., JOHN, beloved husband of Margaret Brown. Funeral notice hereafter.”

“BUSHMAN-At 212 Moore-st., Aug. 28, AUGUSTA BUSHMAN, aged 69 years. Burial at Waldheim cemetery.”

“BALLOU-At 3631 Vernon-av., Aug. 28, ALBERT R. BALLOU, aged 21 years. Burial at Philadelphia, Pa.”

“BROWN-At 316 Clybourn-av., Aug. 28, FRANZ BROWN, aged 30 years. Burial at St. Boniface cemetery.”

“BAIER-At 197 Hudson-av., Aug. 28, CHRIST BAIER, aged 57 years. Burial at German Catholic cemetery.”

“COLLINS-Aug. 29, 1889, MAGGIE, beloved daughter of Maurice B. Collins, aged 14 years and 5 months. Funeral Saturday, Aug. 31, at 9:30 from parents’ residence, 145 47th-st., to St. Cecelia’s church, by carriages to Milwaukee & St. Paul R. R. depot, thence by cars to Calvary.”

“CHARTRAND-At 37 Wa[?]-st., Aug. 28, LUDWICK CHARTRAND, aged 9 years. Burial at Calvary Cemetery.”

“CROAK-At 52d and School-sts., Aug. 29, 1889, beloved son of Edward and Jane Croak, nee Reach [?], aged 14 months and 15 days. Funeral Friday, Aug. 30, at 10:30 a.m., by carriages to Mount Olivet cemetery.”

“CROWE-Aug. 29, 1889, MARTIN CROWE, aged 74 years. Funeral from his late residence, 3138 Wabash-av., Saturday, Aug. 31, at 9:30 a.m., to St. James’ church, where mass will be celebrated, thence by C., M. & St. P. Ry. to Calvary cemetery.”

“DUVALL-At 63 W. 14th-st., Aug. 28, GEORGE DUVALL, aged 4 years. Burial at Rensville, Ind.”

“DOCKERY-Aug. 28, 1889, EDWARD DOCKERY, native of Parish Drumand, County Roscommon, Ireland. Funeral Friday, Aug. 30, from undertaker’s establishment, 67 Canalport-av., by cars to Calvary via C., & N.W. R. R.”

“FEHRINGER-At residence, [?51] Melrose-st., Aug. 28, 1889, FLORENCE K., beloved daughter of Aug. and Kate Fehrenger (sic). Funeral Friday, at 11 a.m., to Waldheim cemetery.”

“GEARINE-Aug. 30, 1889, PATRICK, beloved son of John and Margaret Gearine, aged 13 months. Funeral Sunday, Sept. 1, from parents’ residence, 2 Ashland-ct., near corner of Ashland-av. and W. Indiana-st., at 11 a.m., to C., & N.W.R.R., by cars to Calvary cemetery.”

“HALLORAN-At 166 Chestnut-st., Aug. 27, GEORGE HALLORAN, aged 65 years. Burial at Calvary cemetery.”

“HAUSMAN-At 539 Austin-av., Aug. 30, 1889, JOSEPH C. HAUSMAN, aged 6 years and 27 days. Funeral Sunday to Forest Home.”

“HESTER-Aug. 28, MARY HESTER, at the residence of her sister, Mrs. Delia Duffy, 150 [?] W. Kinzie-st., in the 27th year of her age. Funeral Friday, at 10 o’clock, to St. Stephen’s church, thence by cars to Calvary cemetery by way of C., & N.W.R.R.”

“JOSEPH-At Alexian Brothers’ hospital, Aug. 28, BAER JOSEPH, aged 28 years. Burial at German Catholic cemetery.”

“KLEIFGES-Aug. 29, 1889, at 1 a.m., at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. H. Fries, 447 26th-st., SEBASTIAN KLEIFGES, beloved father of Peter Kleifges, Mrs. K. [?], Mrs. Fries and Sister Egberts, aged 78 years and [?] months. Funeral will take place from 447 26th-st., Saturday, August 31, at 9 a.m., to St. Anthony’s church, where high mass will be celebrated and thence by carriages to St. Boniface cemetery. Kenosha and Racine papers please copy.”
